Ramal meets Impulsia Ensemble
The Ramal Ensemble, together with guests from the IMPULSIA Ensemble, explores the connection between Western classical and Arabic music in the Creative Music Lab concert series. The performance contrasts Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings Op. 48 with works from iconic Arab composers. While Tchaikovsky’s piece reflects European classical traditions and Russian folk influences, the selected Arabic compositions blend tradition with Western musical elements. Featured works include pieces by Riad Al-Sunbati, Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Yorgo Bacanos, Mohamed El Qasabgi, and Baligh Hamdi. Their music, ranging from virtuosic dance-inspired Longas to orchestral preludes, highlights the fusion of East and West. The program concludes with Layali El Mansoura by Attia Sharara, celebrating Egyptian heritage.
